Frequently Asked Questions
All wedding packages include wedding day coverage with Meg, an engagement session, online gallery with digital download, and a print release.
What is 'full day coverage'?
Coverage will be customized to your wedding day timeline. During the booking process, we will discuss the plans for your day and come up with a photography plan. Full day coverage usually starts with the bride getting ready, and ends approximately half way through the reception (once the first dance, cake cutting, etc have been done.)
Can I print my photos?
Yes. You will be given a letter which you can present to the printing lab of your choice. I do encourage you to print with a high quality lab. You will have the option to purchase high quality prints directly from your gallery, if you wish.
Any hidden fees?
No way! What you see is what you get. I strive to keep things simple, and your wedding photography will be no different.
What is your turn around time?
As soon as possible! The maximum amount of time I allow myself is 8 weeks during my busiest season, however, I strive to have your wedding photos completed in as little time as possible.
What if I don't want an engagement session? Can I get a discount instead?
Engagement sessions are really great practice before the big day, so I encourage you to take advantage of this included session. The difference in wedding day portraits between couples who have had an engagement session and couples who have not is astounding, and most couples tell me that they are glad they chose to do the session.
However, if you choose not to do an engagement session, that's okay too! Since it's an added bonus included in your wedding photography package, a discount will not be given for an engagement session not booked.
Do you charge travel fees?
I only charge a travel fee on a case-by-case basis when the situation warrants it. For example, if a wedding is to take place 3 hours from my home and will be held in the evening, I would require hotel accommodations.
I do not charge mileage within New England or New York.
If you are getting married outside of New England or New York, special arrangements for travel can be discussed individually.
What about an album?
Custom albums can be added to your wedding package. If you are considering a wedding album, please let me know and we can talk about your options in one of our planning meetings.
What is the booking process like?
After you submit an inquiry on the contact page, I will email you within 48 hours. I like to meet with clients before booking. It is a relaxed, no-pressure meeting...just a chance to get to know each other! No cheesy salesman nonsense ;) Let's keep it casual and meet for coffee or a cocktail. We'll talk about your wedding plans, your timeline, and your vision for the day. We'll talk about a photography schedule and come up with a "game plan" for the big day. I'll send you home with all of the information we discussed, and if you feel like we're a good match, we can move onto the next step in booking. Remember, other than family and friends, your wedding photographer is the only person that will be with you all day, so it's important that we jive well together.
When you're ready to book, a $500 deposit will reserve your date. The remaining balance will be due in one or more payments. The number of payments will depend on your total balance and the amount of time between booking and the wedding date. I find that multiple, smaller payments allows couples to book their wedding photography without the burden of a large expense. If you are on a tight budget, I will gladly work with you to come up with a manageable payment schedule.
Once your wedding date is reserved, we can get your engagement session scheduled!
What if there's an emergency and you can't make it to the wedding?
Knock on wood, this hasn't happened yet! However, life happens and sometimes unexpected situations put us all in difficult situations. In such an emergency, I have a wide network of fellow wedding photographers who I trust to stand in for me. If there's a worst-case scenario and they are not available, you would receive a full refund, and a portrait session at a later date, with the cost of dress-cleaning, tuxedo rental, and hair & make up covered by me. This is covered in our contract, so you can rest assured that you are legally entitled to fair resolution of the problem. But again, I can assure you that no illness or emergency has ever held me back from following through on my commitment to my clients!
How many weddings do you book in a month?
In order to give my clients my full attention and complete their wedding gallery within a reasonable timeframe, I limit the number of weddings I take on in a month. The exact number depends on a variety of factors, but I can assure you that I do not book more than I can handle, and you will always receive my full attention.
All wedding packages include a minimum of:
Engagement session (optional, but recommended)
